So...

...would you ever consider living in this house?

(P.S.: Believe it or not, the inside is very cute. Well, mostly cute. It has, indeed, been remodeled. But you know how old houses have "quirks," like random rooms that are so bizarrely shaped you wouldn't know how to situate anything in there. And a creepy/possibly haunted storage room, under which an Indian graveyard may or may not be located. And a 1-inch gap between the back of the kitchen counter and the wall. And...oh, but really, it has character, doesn't it?)

Are you and Dave considering buying this house? Okay, I'm going to be totally honest with you, because hey, I want people to be brutally honest with me. It sounds like there are some strange things going on in there. I know what you mean about the weird rooms. We looked at lots of old houses that had the most illogical nooks and crannies and bizarre shaped rooms that made no sense. The outside does, in fact, look pretty creepy. I don't know if I could handle living in a house with a "possibly haunted storage room, under which an Indian graveyard may or may not be located." But maybe you would enjoy it. :) At least it's not next to "Universal Semen Sales," am I right? :) Our house was totally remodeled inside and out before we bought it, which was awesome. I didn't want to buy a "fixer-upper" house with a lot of problems because a) I don't have that much time on my hands, and b) let's face it, I don't know how to fix ANYTHING, let alone a house. When it comes to DIY, I cringe (at least for certain projects.) So, something to consider. It wasn't until after we moved in that we heard all the horror stories from neighbors. Like, who the previous owners were and what kinds of things took place in the house. Yeah, weird stuff. But, we love it regardless, and it's OURS now, so I don't care what happened before we moved in (as long as it wasn't a murder....freakin' creepy.) No house is perfect. But, a home is what you make of it, and I think that if you and Dave feel right about it, you shouldn't let other people's opinions sway your decision. :) When we found our house something just told us it was perfect for us. And it's been great so far. I could go on and on about the house buying experience, but this comment is long enough as it is. Maybe I'll just email you....

No matter what house you buy, there are going to good points and bad points. For example, I wouldn't care if there was a murder or an ancient Indian burial ground or something like that. They really give a nice charm to the place.

I say just find something you can afford and make it work. You can always upgrade to a non-haunted place after a few years of building equity, eh?
