Saturday was the big day: The Renaissance Fair! My Dad wore his full Scottish get up, including a kilt. He looked quite dashing. The rest of us didn't dress up, but after we got there I sort of wish I had. What other chance do you have in life to dress up like a dork in a poofy skirt and medieval garb, anyway? A lot of people there were authentically dressed, and it made the experience that much spiffier. Maybe I will if we go next year. But anyway, it was great fun. We saw a guy who swallowed swords and other acts, and watched a jousting tournament. The funnest part was probably just walking around, though. The shops were awesome and I liked cruising around and seeing what interesting things we could find. Unfortunately, the traffic getting out of the fair was horrendous. There were like 4 accidents on the freeway and we had to wait to leave the parking lot for a good hour or more.
(Sword Swallowing--this guy was really fun!)

that festival sounds pretty neat. i saw some jousting at excalibur in las vegas once and i have to admit, it was pretty rad. so lucky you!
Oooh! you shoulda dressed up! Dad looks so great in the kilt! and that goose! Jana will be so jealous!
also, dude! that fairy is loaded! I see the money sticking out of her. looks like she has more than just sparkly stones.
That goose was so warm, it was pretty neat! And yeah, that fairy was totally loaded with cash. All of the performing people liked to get tips, and people would hand them money and get their picture taken. I bet they made a TON of money!
